Sent: Sunday, February 25, 2001 2:41 PM Hi, Christmas day 2000...My husband Chuck found out that people with Hepatitis should not ever take Paxil , so he stopped taking it. Not knowing there were terrible withdrawal problems and his Doctor didn't know either. I have Documents form Smithkline Beecham that they sent me after the fact stating that the doctors were unaware of all the problems. My husband on the 3rd day off Paxil lost his mind , confusion, hallucinating and buzzing in his head he reached for the phone ina frantic and grabbed my hair and I was scared and the neighbour called the police. We have been fighting this siuation since then.. He was in the emergancy room at the hospital for this and then he went to jail, after he was stablized with Paxil and Xanax. I have stood by my husband from day one of this situation and I will until the end of this crap, but because of my red-headed Irish stubborness the DA in our county decided she didn't like me and has added 4 more charges onto my husband by lying to the grand jury. She had threatened our attorney with this if my husband disn't take the plea deal she offered. well, now my husband is looking at 9 years in prison and up to 120,000 dollars in fines because of him having withdrawal problems off of Paxil. All he did is grab my hair and he doesn't even have any memory of this. We go to trial This Thursday and we are fighting it with the Oregonian and the local papr and we are going to be suing the Smithkline Beecham comany over this and also the District Attorneys Office. We have a good lawyer and he is willing to take these cases. I hope nobody ever has to go through what we have it is terrible. Myhusband hasn't had a drop of alcohol in over 2 years and we bought 2 houses and we have honor roll kids. Our lives were wonderful until he had a problem with depression and they put him on Paxil. He still is on it and the Doctor recommends that he stays on it until after the court hearing. We have a lot of evidence against Paxil and the withdrawal problems and I hope everyone out there that is trying to get off Paxil makes it without any problems like we are going through. Good luck to everyone. Chuck and Sally Date: Mon Feb 26, 2001 3:49pm Response1: Chuck & Sally, My withdrawals are nothing compared to your situation. I wish you all the luck I can and keep me updated. Bobbi Date: Mon Feb 26, 2001 2:57pm Response2: Sally, I am so sorry for you and your husband, have you contacted Dr. Ann Blake Tracy, do you have a Dr. in your defense ? let me know, and Dr. Ann Tracy, I am sure, would help your attorney in your defense..........let me know and I can help you get in contact with her....she has gone to court for many..........take care, Cynthia Date: Mon Feb 26, 2001 3:42pm Response3: Sally: I wonder how many people are in your husband's position. I'm sure there are thousands, but they just wind up in jail and we never hear from them again. You MUST fight this with all you've got. You MUST make as much noise as possible about this situation. Paxil is an evil nasty drug, much like Halcion was before there was a major government clampdown and the drug was pulled from all the markets except the US. But it took a lot of mayhem and murder before anyone saw what this drug was capable of doing. Have you contacted the lawyer who are suing SKB for lying about the withdrawals??? They are in Santa Clara, California, and THEY know just how badly SKB lied about this poison. You and your husband are in my prayers. Trisha
